The Gamakatsu Jigging Rig is a ready-to-fish multi-hook rig designed for jigging herring, smelt and other small baitfish and forage species. With multiple jigs positioned along the main line, it provides an efficient way to locate and catch schooling baitfish throughout the water column.
Gamakatsu offers the Jigging Rig in different configurations, including Fish Skin, Gold, and Nickel Smelt/Herring versions. The Fish Skin-style presentation adds flash and a baitfish-like appearance, making the individual jigs highly visible as the rig is worked vertically.
The Gold/Fish Skin version features a 64-inch main line with seven jigs tied on 2-inch leaders and is offered in hook sizes 8, 6 and 4. The Nickel Smelt/Herring version uses an 80-inch main line with seven jigs on 1.75-inch leaders and is available in sizes 5 and 4.
