Bassmooch Wake Z

The BassMooch Wake Z Crankbait is a highly buoyant shallow-running wake bait designed to imitate an injured baitfish struggling along the surface. Its large, rounded body creates a pronounced wake and stays high in the water column, making it an excellent option when bass are feeding shallow but aren't fully committing to a traditional topwater presentation.

A unique two-hole bill design helps the Wake Z track true without rolling over while producing a small trail of bubbles behind the bait. It can be worked slowly for a deliberate surface wake or retrieved faster while maintaining stability. Its buoyant body also helps it deflect around shallow cover such as boat docks, laydowns, and submerged grass.

At 2.5 inches and 5/8 oz, the Wake Z runs approximately 0–1 foot deep and comes equipped with sharp treble hooks. BassMooch acquired Profound Outdoors and the Azuma brand in 2025, and states that the original molds were retained, so anglers familiar with the Azuma Wake Z will recognize the same proven design.
