Bassmooch Square Boss Crankbait

The BassMooch Square Boss Squarebill Crankbait is a shallow-running, completely silent squarebill designed to trigger bass in pressured water and around shallow cover. With no internal rattles, it delivers a more natural presentation for fish that have become wary of loud crankbaits.

Built with an extra-tough circuit-board lip, the Square Boss is made to deflect off logs, rocks, stumps, and other hard cover. Its compact 2.5-inch body weighs 1/2 ounce, providing excellent casting performance while reaching a productive 2–5 foot diving range. BassMooch states that the bait suspends when paused, while Tackle Warehouse describes it as slowly rising, so its near-neutral buoyancy gives anglers an effective pause-and-trigger presentation around cover.

The Square Boss is armed with razor-sharp treble hooks and offered in a wide range of bass-catching colors. BassMooch acquired Profound Outdoors and the Azuma brand in 2025 and states that the original molds were retained, keeping the Square Boss design unchanged.
