Asian Grilled Tuna

Ingredients
  • 4 fresh tuna steaks
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp rice wine
  • 1-2 cloves garlic - minced
  • oil
Directions
1. Combine marinade ingredients. 2. Place tuna steaks in a flat non-reactive dish or pan. Cover with marinade. Let stand in refrigerator for 1-4 hours, turning often. 3. Preheat grill or broiler. 4. Grill or broil tuna, basting frequently, until medium rare (about 10 minutes per inch of thickness). 5. Alternative preparation: do not marinate fish. Steam the fish steaks, and pour heated marinade over. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

The marinade version is the best. It allows the marinade to seep into the meat of the tuna. I added mango with mine though.

Great flavor on the BBQ! We let it marinade for about 2 hours before grilling. I used sesame oil in the marinade for a little stronger flavor...ummmm!

Did you say to cook it for 10 min per thickness for med rare??????
