Born on the campus of Texas A&M, as my father finished his studies. Roamed the United States up till junior high as an army brat, fishing and hunting with dad. My father went to work as an oil executive and I spent the next four years growing up in the Netherlands, ( Holland ). Learned to fish the canals of the low countries and parts of Europe while we went on vacations. Returned back home to Texas, unable to speak english correctly, and attended Aldine High School. The next four years was spent fishing, hunting, football and some how I graduated from high School! Here in Texas, I learned to fish & hunt on my own. Dad, by now was globe trotting for a government agency, and I were on two different planes. This is where I became infected with " Catch anything with fins attitude ". Graduating from high school, getting a football scholarship and dropping out of college, all happened in the same year.

Went to work as a photographer with UPI and was sent overseas to photograph news stories. The conflict ended and I joined the Merchant Marines. I traveled around the The 'CAPE' twice and had ports of call everywhere from the far east to the middle east. This is where I developed the taste for saltwater fishing. Catching spicies I had only read about in books, I began to write about it. Left the service, and went back to school. Enrolled in Schiller College, London, England and graduated from Richmond College, Surrey, England with an A.A. Degree in Photography/Dramatic Arts. I also attended RADA, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. This was where my love of writing was born. Directed and produced 5 plays for stage while in London, England. Continued my traveling adventures in Africa, where I lived and worked a couple of years. Fishing the Nile, in the Sudan, was a real rip, but that is another story. Came back to the states and graduated from University of South Florida, Tampa with a B.A. degree in Creative Writing/English.

Went to work teaching high school english, and selling various articles on fishing-hunting to magizines and newspapers. The waterways of Louisiana taught me a thing or two on fishing for catfish and bass. Met my wife here and moved to Colorado where I became an outfitter, ( Hunting & Fishing Guide ). I hunted or fished the entire Rocky Mountain region, leaving no stone unturned. Became the Sports Editor and having a column I worked for the Colorado News.

Worked as a fishing guide, and commercial shrimper/fisherman for awhile in Rockport, Texas. Wrote articles on commercial fishing the Texas/La. coast and developed my skills on game fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Back to Colorado, and wrote full time as a freelance writer. Published plays, songs, poetry, and articles of intrest, including fishing stories to various publications.

Moved to Florida and again became a fishing guide and freelance writer. Started a tackle store on line called ReelnFish.Com .

In a nut shell, I have lived and fished in some 35+ countries of our planet. Visited or lived and fished in 31 states of our country. I have a wife of 22 years this August, (that's a long time to be with me, and yes she can outfish me, just don't tell her I said so, ha-ha). Two sons and my little girl who is serving in the AirForce.

A dog, three cats, a guinee pig and fish round out our family. Oh Yeah, and my boat. Best fish to catch? One with fins. Best Quote " the voice of the sea, speaks to the soul..." Edgar Allan Poe. My by line " What a rip, What a trip ".
