He has been tying flies for about 11 years, adding constantly to an ever growing selection of hooks and materials. It has not only been a way to fill his fly boxes and provide whatever is needed for upcoming trips, but also as a creative outlet, allowing him to create new patterns and put new twists on old ones.

T. C. Harrington has held various leadership positions for several sportsmen and conservation based organizations, locally and at a state level. Currently he president of the Central Kentucky Fly Fishers, where he frequently teaches a fly tying session at the monthly meetings and helps others develop their fly fishing skills. In addition, he is a technical consultant to The Invicta Fly Shop.

When he is not traveling the country hunting, fishing, and competing in field trials, he resides in the Blue Grass region of Kentucky with a pack of dogs and his wife Nancy, who is a professor at the University of Kentucky.
