Winter fishing reports available online from AGFC

LITTLE ROCK - Many astute anglers know that winter produces some of the best fishing - and lunker-size catches of several species - in Arkansas.  Lakes and streams aren't crowded, either.

Arkansas fishermen can find out about current conditions on lakes and rivers across the state on the Internet, and the information is free.

The fishing report of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission provides capsule reports from knowledgeable sources in all corners of Arkansas and is updated each Wednesday.  Just go to www.agfc.com <http://www.agfc.com> and click on ‘Fishing.’

Commission's hotline updated with hunting information

LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has a toll free number targeting those outdoorsmen specifically interested in the state’s wildlife. The toll free number is 1-800-440-1477 and will be updated regularly with various information on deer, duck, turkey and many other items.

Specifically, the hotline features information on the latest hunting regulation changes, hunting permit availability, check sheets, waterfowl updates, hunting zone quotas and closures of flood prone areas. If those topics don’t meet your needs, there’s also an option to call the wildlife management division directly to answer specific questions.

The hotline will allow those people who do not have access to the agency’s website to find out about the changing management efforts of the AGFC wildlife management division.
